Up your nose with a rubber…shoe??
December 30, 2003
Oh the drama just never ends.
We just meticulously extracted a rubber doll shoe from Little Diva’s nose. Go ahead and laugh at the image. It’s okay. Even though she is the last of three children, she now holds the honor of the first of our children to shove some foreign object up her nose. (I think we will mount the shoe for a trophy to mark the occasion.)
I almost didn’t even know she had done it! She was in her brother’s room and she started to cry and sniff and calling me. She told me her nose hurt. I had no clue what was wrong. Then she was telling me her shoe hurt. (She is in her pj’s. No shoes.) After a while that light bulb turned on and I put “shoe” + “nose” together and looked. Lo and behold, glimmering from the depths of the tiny 2 year old nose was a tiny pink shoe. (If she had been playing with her “Barbie from da ‘hood”, this would never have happened. That shoe would never fit in anyone’s nose!)
Luckily, her daddy is much better at dealing with the extraction process. (I was willing to let the local e.r. deal with it, but he was calmer.) Flashlight? Check. Tweezers? Check. Pillow for under the neck? Check. Gag reflex on mom? Check. Little Diva never cried or flinched when Daddy removed the shoe. She did however tell me she didn’t want it back, thankyouverymuch.
Now tell me, what is it about a tiny rubber doll shoe that would cause a child to look at it and think to herself “Hmmm, now that looks like something I should shove up my nose. Yes. It is definitely something I should attempt. I bet it will fit.”? Where in her life experience did she see something that would cause her to want to attempt such a feat? I have no idea either.
Hopefully, the lesson has been learned. Although, it may explain where the socks missing from the dryer go. Hmmmm…..

Home for the holidays
December 23, 2003

(Fortunately, she had remembered to stock up on Prozac before heading home for the holidays.)
I’ll just let the image speak for me today.

Hmmmm…still no Jenn…
December 19, 2003
Well then I say we play some more games!
I admit that I loathe Christmas and every Christmas song there is but I want to steal an idea I got when I was skipping through stations this morning and heard that holiday favorite, The 12 Days of Christmas.
I want to play the 12 Days of Life.
Here’s how this works. List out what you want 1-12. Whatever you list for #1 you want one of, what you list for #2 you want two of and so on. These can be tangible things like bags of money or intangible like peace and harmony. It is up to you.
Want to see what I would want over the course of any 12 days in the year?

ABC Rhymes
December 18, 2003
ABC rhyming is one of my favorite things to do but it is even better when it is done with friends.
*ahem* that’s all ya’all*
What is ABC Rhyming you ask? Well first I hoisted the idea from my blogging friend, Townie who has some of the best blogging ideas in - uh…welll..Town.
*no pun intended*
Here’s what you do. I’ll start with the letters A & B and build them into a two line rhyme. Then it is your turn to take the next two letters and build them into a rhyme and so on and so on until we get to the letter Z.
Dust off your thinking caps and tell me about YOUR week in this ABC Rhyme!!

What Really Keeps the Doctor Away
Hey, all. It’s Charlie from Where the Hell Was I?, filling in for Jenn while she digs herself out of her phlegmy illness.
(Okay, that’s not fair, really. I can’t personally speak for the level of lung goo she’s experiencing right now. It’s just based on my past experience that I think she’s probably ‘projectile expectorating’ at this point. Sickness sucks, and it’s not all that pretty to look at, either.
Hmmm… yeah, none of this is probably making Jenn feel any better. Let’s move on to something less… icky now.)

Family Feud Kazoofus-style
While Jenn is battling the flu bug I’m going to do my best to humor her troops.
Lets play Family Feud….Kazoofus style.
What is Kazoofus style? It means there aren’t really any rules and there aren’t really any winners and there sure as hell aren’t any prizes.
To play, all you have to do is answer the following question in the comments. You can list as many answers as you’d like.
Ready?

I love me some Heat Miser!
December 2, 2003
I just got an email from a good friend of mine letting me know that one of my all time favorite Christmas shows is on tonight on ABC family. I am so conflicted. This is up against A Charlie Brown Christmas. *sigh* TIVO me, baby!
Every year my sister and I would watch this (still do) and sing and dance to it. (Now we’re usually helped along by Christmas champagne, but nevertheless, we sing loudly.)
I have a friend who does a great impression of Heat Miser.
You know who you are and you know I love ya girl!

Blogging: Is it genetic?
November 25, 2003
Nature or nurture?
Imitation is the highest form of flattery?
Monkey see, Monkey do?
Take your pick of you favorite reasoning if you want to. The point is…
Kidlet Sr has decided that he wants to start a blog, too. I told him that I would stay away from his if he stayed away from mine. *grin*
So why don’t you hop on over there and say howdy to my guy. He’s 10 years old and would feel ever so special. Thanks!
Feel free to tell him to clean his room, do his homework or brush his teeth if you want to. I mean, hey, if I am going to send traffic his way, the least I could do is get some back up parental coaxings.
