Remember: Go away. Not towards!

August 19, 2007

I am in Houston right now.

Once you hit the outskirts you begin to see the signs. What signs? These signs:

Seriously? I mean seriously? Do we not remember the mass exodus of 2005? I have to remember the basic rule:

Go away from hurricanes. Not towards them.

Apparently, I tend to get that one wrong. A lot.

Step away from the storms Jenn. A-W-A-Y! Love ya sister! Hope ya’ll stay safe!

  2. Moogie says:

Stay safe. Those hurricanes? They are not fun. But I still say I prefer them to earthquakes which we had in California. At least you can see them coming. Take care of yourself.

  3. Daisy says:

Stay. Away. But no matter what, fill the gas tank first. Okay? Take care! :)

  4. Heather says:

Oh my. Turn around, post haste.

  5. OMSH says:

Hey,if you need to evacuate, I’m about an hour North and will take ya in a second! :)

  6. Lisa says:

My entire family is in Houston. I remember the mass exodus. I wasn’t in it, but my sister was. 12 hours or something in the car and they barely moved. They ended up turning around and going back home.

We recently moved from north Texas to southeast Florida. I hope the signs help Texans figure out what to do (!). I loved north Texas - only a tornado here and there. Now that we are in south Florida, I may need a sign to figure out what to do here!
